A Message from
the Commodore
Welcome to the 2009 boating season! I am pleased to be your Commodore for the
upcoming year, and am looking forward to working with our Executive team to
build on our past successes while implementing new initiatives.
At GBYC we enjoy continued camaraderie among all of our members, both power and
sail, a solid racing program, a dedication to youth in this sport, and an iconic
club house. All of this in a fabulous location within the community of Grand
Bend where the beaches stretch forever and the sunsets fill the horizon.
Our club, like many others, is the sum total of the individual enthusiasm and
passion of its membership. It is this passion for boating and the water we all
share. As such I urge you to participate fully in promoting the continued health
and welfare of our organization whether through racing, attending social events
or through committee membership. There is always something to do at GBYC.
I look forward to seeing you at the club, through our social events and on
the race course! If I may be of any assistance or should you have concerns or
issues, please do not hesitate to contact me.
To quote Mark Twain:
"Twenty years from now, you will be more disappointed
by the things you did not do than by the things you did do.
So, throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbour.
Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."
